It was about ten years before Calamity that certain people started to been aware of power known later as Echo. Thanks to this power they could forsee six astral era coming to an end. So they gathered in the darkest sites of Twelveswood and swore to do whatever they can do stop this terrible fate , yet powers of Echo are a mistery and so they could not exacly tell what will be coming.
And so on, an organization known later as SeeD was born, yet it was to remain secret since people of Eorzea could not know of their incoming doom, the secret was too terrifying to reveal. That day one of leaders would say: "Today, we plant a "seed" that we hope grow into strong tree, roots deep into earth, that when the time comes may protect us from our terrible fate"
Leaders of SeeD began preparation to fight unknown by gathering young orphans with hidden power of echo and train their bodies and mind in a secret place's they would call "Gardens", kept in secrecy in diffirent parts of Twelveswood.
This time was known as "The Growth"
And so time passed and first seeds began to spring when Garlean Empire ressumed their muvement on Eorzea and Gaius with his plan appeared. It was SeeD who first knew about his plans to summon Dalmund ans so SeeD's first mission started. Young cadets were send behind enemy line most of them never return, and none known of their sacrifice.
Finally when Dalmund arose on night sky, SeeD would help out Grand Companies in their effort's but it was too late then. Bahamut appeared during great battle with Garlean fleet, his attack devastating for most of Earzean cities would spare none of the SeeD's Gardens, many lost their lives, and these who live, terrified by Bahamut's power, perhaps unexperienced enough, fled from battle, even some of leaders would flee to never be seen again.
This time was known as "The Wither".
It was that day on battlefield when young SeeD sergeant Tsu'ya Rhiki gathered last of SeeD, seeing that battle cannot be won they fled to hide in Twelveswood.
Five years have passed when SeeD try to regain their stengh, and helped to rebuild destroyed land. Yet, there were only few and had no ways to restore SeeD to their former glory. Tsu'ya who was choosen to lead restoring efforts decided to ask Twin Adder for the aid - and so Free Company named "SeeD" would be born and go out from secrecy. They would also change form of training, no longer they would stay in Garden's where they hone their skills, instead Tsu'ya decided that cadets will go out and share peoples happynes and pain, helping them and living among them. So when the time come to face unnknown, they would fight for whats dear for them, so shamefull events from the past would never again shame the name of SeeD.

This time was know as "Reborn"
SeeD continued to grow, aiding people thru all Eorzea and helping Twin Adder in their efforts, their cadets gaining wisdom and strengh nesecarry to face Bahamut and put him to his doom to clear shame of the past…
